The Australia and New Zealand Association for Clinical Pastoral Education (ANZACPE) was formed in June 1990, in Melbourne. It is an Association of six Member Associations. Each Association is autonomous with its own administrative structures for Accreditation of CPE Supervisors and Registration of Centres where CPE can be conducted. However the Standards for Clinical Supervisor Level II have been established across the various associations and equivalency is recognised. Members of ANZACPE meet annually for a conference and for the conduct of Review Committees for Level II.
The ANZACPE Conference for Supervisors this year is being arranged by the Queensland Institute of CPE, and will be held August 30 to September 3.
The theme for the conference, How to Survive in a Dry Country will be exploring the questions Can dry bones receive life? Is there manna in the drought? Is there a new song to sing? Speakers are Rev. Dr. John Chalmers and Dr. John Barletta. John Barletta's working title is: How to revive yourself as a helper. Drinking from the supervision cup. Julie O'Brien will be presenting a session on Theological Reflection.
The venue will be Riverglenn set in the tranquil surroundings in the western suburb of Indooroopilly. The conference centre is in the grounds of the Christian Brothers' Province centre on the banks of the Brisbane river. It is in close proximity to the centre of Brisbane.
